The origin of the name of Dracy-Saint-Loup is the subject of several hypotheses between the Gallo-Roman Draccius and the Gallic term doratia while Lupus evokes Saint-Loup, bishop of Troyes in the5th century. Moreover, the village church is dedicated to Saint-Loup. The Drée and the Arroux cross the village, for a time overhung by a mill. Built in 1619, surrounded by ditches, the castle is embellished with a stone bridge that gives access to the portal. Over time, it will be assigned to agricultural use. The castle, listed as a historical monument since 2011, can be seen, but not visited.
