In Burford, a typical Cotswold town 27 km from Oxford, once the center of the wool trade, you can stroll along the town's only steep main street at weekends, among the antique stores. Soak up the sunshine on a pub terrace. Take pictures of the many half-timbered houses. The church of St John the Baptist, with its wooden nave, is a must-see. Note the marks of its former V-frame, which has since been raised. It's a must-see on any trip to the Cotswolds. Nearby is the Cotswold Wildlife Park, with its 300 species of animal.
