On the border of the Charollais, at the foot of Mont Saint-Vincent, the commune of Collonge-en-Charollais offers large areas of preserved nature and 417 hectares of forest, 70% of the communal territory, suitable for hiking (the GR®7 crosses the village from north-west to south-east). Walks that will take you towards the Mer de Pierres, a sandstone heap reminiscent of a still sea, or on the Sentier de la Résistance (Path of Resistance). The Camp des Loups was one of the most important French maquis in 1942. See the monument of Maranges in homage to the 7 maquisards killed by the occupier during the Second World War. Be well prepared for the hikes, as the gradients are sometimes significant! To see, the church of Saint-Etienne-de-Collonge which houses a stained glass window and a 15th century lapidary cartouche, an old tower dating from the 15th century, the keep of Montvoisin, the wash house of the lower Collonge and the mill of the Anses.
