With just over 3,000 inhabitants, Sencelles is a small village in the interior of Mallorca that does not lack charm. The village has made its living from agriculture since time immemorial, but it suffered a serious blow when the local vineyards were ravaged by an aphid (the famous phylloxera) at the end of the 19th century. However, the inhabitants managed to recover and the cultivation of vines (and figs) is still going strong today. We will come here to make the journey along the Sencelles-Costitx archaeological route, before going to the Toutatis for a drink and a bite to eat on the terrace at the Molico.
