The most widespread image of this small town in Southern Burgundy is that of its breeds: the Charolais cow and the Charollais sheep. But to reduce it to that would be sacrilegious. As the city of Charles the Bold and former capital of the Charolais County, it has preserved many beautiful 15th and 16th century vestiges that can be visited: the Tower of Charles the Bold, the convent of the Poor Clares and the Priory, classified as a Cluniac site. What's more, the landscapes offered by this city of water, where the Arconce and Semence rivers flow, have earned it the lovely nickname of "Little Venice of Charolais". Experience the dolce vita of Burgundy.
