In addition to its jewel, the Romanesque church of Saint-Pierre-et-Paul, a jewel of Romanesque art from the 12th century, this wine-producing village has known tragic events. On the hill nicknamed the Blutberg (the bloody mountain), infamous battles were held for the liberation of the Colmar pocket during the Second World War. Its summit is home to a national necropolis where the bodies of French and American soldiers who fell during the battle from January 20 to February 9, 1945 are buried. This place of memory has a magnificent panoramic view of the wine road, the Alsace plain and the German Black Forest.
