Read moreCreated in 1987, the Chalon dans la rue festival is the second largest street arts festival in France (after Aurillac). For 4 days, no fewer than 150 French and international companies set the pace in the city, whose population is growing by leaps and bounds. Dance, circus, music, theater: there's something for everyone. You can stroll through the 1,000 or so performances, but it's best to make up a precise schedule of shows, usually free or by the hat.
