Inhabited by the Celts, this small rural village was once at the crossroads of the Roman roads leading to Chagny, Chalon-sur-Saône, Tournus and Charolles. You can't miss its massive and highly visible church of the Assumption of the Virgin, surrounded by its cemetery. Small curiosity, when crossing the bridge over the Guye: it is indicated that the demarcation line passed right at the entrance of the village, cutting the commune in two until 1943. Even more tragically, it was in the hamlet of Neuilly that 12 people were shot on 12 June 1944 by the occupying forces (Monument in the village of Neuilly). The village has long since regained its calm and invites you to follow a beautiful green walk for 14 km: The Celtic Way. To see: the Romanesque church, the remains of a 13th century feudal castle (2 towers), mills and a wash-house.
