Les Saras was a prosperous village thanks to the banana, timber and gold trade via the now-abandoned railroad. Referring to their "Sara" ethnic group, the Chadian railroad workers gave the village its name, which was formerly Mboulou. Today, the hamlet is home to around 3,000 inhabitants, mainly of the Yombé ethnic group. Over the weekend, this charming village offers the chance to take part in a number of activities: a walk along the railroad, a visit to the village, a trip down the river in a buoy, or a chance to discover gold panning. However, you'll need a good 4x4 to get there, as the road is bumpy.
