The southernmost commune of the southern part of the Chalonnaise coast is overlooked by Mount Péjus, remarkable for its biodiversity and classified as a Natura 2000 site. On its limestone lawns grow numerous orchids and other plants which attract a whole fauna, including butterflies and insects which in turn attract larger predators such as the red kite. With its beautiful castle (private, not to be visited, but easy to observe), its churches, its wash houses, its numerous cadoles in the vineyards, the mill and the chapel of Saint-Martin-de-Croix, Burnand offers a most pleasant walking destination. A green walk to the Mont Saint-Roch from where you can admire, from the statue of the Virgin, the medieval town of Saint-Gengoux-le-National. Picnic area set up below the old school.
