Two kilometers northeast of Leticia, you can canoe through the flooded jungle on seven interconnected lagoons. This is a popular trip, lasting 2-3 hours. You can see dolphins, but also the famous Victoria Regia, a water lily with huge circular leaves that float on the surface of the calm waters. These leaves, which can reach two meters in diameter, are the largest of all aquatic species. They serve as natural platforms for birds and certain reptiles, and are said to support the weight of a child! The flower, composed of about sixty white or pink petals, is magnificent.
