From the lordship of the Pullers of Hohenburg until 1482 and then to the lords of Sickingen until the Revolution, Climbach suffered many setbacks and at the end of the Thirty Years' War in 1648, for example, there were only 8 houses left! Today, it is a charming mountain village still marked by some remains of the Maginot Line. The inhabitants are nicknamed Heldelbeereschnitzer or Heidelbeereschlacker, because picking Heidelbeeren or blueberries was one of their activities, providing them with an additional resource and making them known.
