Capurgana is a village out of time, in the department of Chocó, on the Caribbean side this time, a few kilometers from the border with Panama. Close to the famous "buffer" of Darien, shared with the Central American country, Capurgana is accessible only by sea and by air. The absence of roads and the relative isolation of the region have preserved this corner of paradise from mass tourism, even if there are people who come from Medellín especially during the festivals and puentes festivos. The wild beaches, the natural fresh water pools, and the lush forest, full of monkeys, sloths and toucans, will seduce the ecotourism lovers. Capurganá is also the last place to get your passport stamped before leaving Colombia for Panama.
