Discovered in 1643 by the Dutch explorer, Martin Gerritzoon de Vries, Tiuleniy Island, a small natural reserve located south-east of the sea of Okhotsk, 600 m long and m wide, houses a large population of lions and birds. The only mammals that inhabit the island are fur seals in the North or bear of sea, the largest of all species of perch. Very sociable and curious, they often approach men. On the island, there is a constant noise produced by their neighbours, seabirds: urias, @ @, cornus, cristatelles cristatelles and many others, which nest in large colonies on coastal cliffs. To access this fascinating natural site, you must be accompanied by an approved guide. In order not to disturb the fauna, it is forbidden to fly over the island by plane or helicopter or spawning with a large vessel less than 30 km from the island.
