Groede is a charming little village not far from Slui. It is a pleasant place to stop and admire the beautiful historical center, especially the market place with its listed buildings. The church is the setting for regular exhibitions. We recommend a short stop and a walk. The village has only about 1,000 inhabitants, but it has a very large church, the Grote Kerk, a very nice Lutheran church and another church, the Sint-Bavokerk. Groede was an independent municipality until 1970 and is now part of the municipality of Oostburg. Groede is a small and photogenic village that we like very much.
