The Pital is the highest mountain summit in El Salvador, peaking at 2 730 metres. In the moist forest, many conifers are found: pines, oaks and cypresses, but also unique and disappeared plants in the rest of the country as hydrangeas of different colours and a wild flower of the name of carlo santo. Horqueta is the highest area of Pital and has a strong tourist attraction due to its proximity to Honduras. The Pital is considered one of the best places to camp and it can be done almost at its peak, at 2 700 meters altitude, between the two peaks of the mountain.
