Surrounded by steep mountains, Corbera d'Ebre, a town in Terra Alta, is one of the last towns to have resisted the fighting of the Battle of the Ebro. At the top of the Montera hill, Poble Vell, the former village of Corbera d'Ebre devastated by the bombings, illustrates the violence of the conflict. The ruins of the houses and alleys are dominated by the old church of Sant Pere. Preserved in its original state, Poble Vell stands as a memorial and its visit does not leave one unmoved. After the war, a new village was built at the foot of the hill. A visit to the center of study of the battle of the Ebro is a good introduction
