A small municipality of 2,200 inhabitants located to the northeast of Valls, in the Miramar mountain range. With a tradition of agriculture, El Pla de Santa Maria lives mainly from the cultivation of vines, fruit trees and cereals. For a long time, the municipality was home to an industrial complex - with interesting modernist architecture - dedicated to textiles, which is now closed, but whose remains are well worth a look.
