SÈQUIA MAJOR

Covering an area of 54 hectares, the Sèquia Major Nature Reserve is an area of particular interest in that it contains a canal, a unique legacy of flooded wetlands. The Sèquia Major is a beautiful space to observe a rich and varied birdlife, but also some singular species of fish such as the Spanish Aphanius(aphanius iberus) or turtles like the Cistude(emys orbicularis). The area is only accessible when the birds are not nesting, that is to say more or less between August and February.
