Travel Guide Monteverde

Charming village, one of the most beautiful borghi in Italy. From the imposing castle that crowns its summit, the tide of red roofs covers the slopes of its three hills. A few kilometres away is Lake San Pietro Aquilaverde, an artificial body of water formed by a dam built on the Osento River. The place, surrounded by forests, is ideal for walks. In summer, the Grande Spettacolo dell'Acqua is held along its banks every evening except Tuesday. The story of San Gerardo (a regional religious from the 18th century) is told along with a sound and light show with water games.
