Nusco, "the balcony of Irpinia", dominates the Calore and Ofanto valleys from its spur at an altitude of 900 metres. Noble palaces, stone porches, wrought iron balconies, arches and vaults make up its historic centre, which can pride itself on being one of the most beautiful borghi in Italy. The Cathedral of Sant'Amato, with its Romanesque crypt containing the relics of the patron saint, is worth a visit. And then, as everywhere in Irpinia, you can enjoy authentic cuisine, with culinary specialities such as cicalucculi al ragù ( homemadegnocchi with meat sauce) or ravioli stuffed with the local ricotta.
