The Ring of Kerry, a 179 km loop around the Iveragh Peninsula, is one of Ireland's premier attractions. But who could blame those tourists who come, by busloads, to discover the most beautiful scenery of the green Erin: spectacular and endless views of mountains, lakes, forests, cliffs and sandy beaches... So you've been warned, you won't be alone, especially in high season. Please note, however, that the buses run counter-clockwise along the Ring of Kerry. It's up to you, therefore, if you prefer to find them in front of you, spoiling the view, or arrive in front of you on often narrow and winding roads... Here we have opted for the safest option, even if it means losing some of the scenery... The Ring of Kerry can be covered in one day (three days by bike). But, of course, the longer you take your time, the more you'll enjoy it...
