From the Petit Bara, it is possible to reach the Goubet in 4 x 4 and then on foot, passing through Mount Hémed, which dominates the surrounding area of 1 100 m. It is obviously necessary to be accompanied by a guide knowing the terrain, via an agency or by relations. Time must be clear to benefit from the panorama, the main interest of walking. Moreover, you must be in good physical condition. The Petit Bara can be crossed in 4 x 4 in all its length, an opportunity for you to appreciate this brittle surface and to see animals. The track ends in Ouadjalé. It is perhaps here that your guide will spoil you in order to start at dawn at the storming of Mount Hémed on foot. The climb is not very difficult, the difference being only about 550 m. It is, of course, the heat that is the main difficulty. From the top of the Hémed, in clear weather, the view is superb on the Goubet, at the bottom of the Gulf of Tadjoura, and Assal Lake. From the Hémed, depending on the time you have and the advice of your guide, you can either go back to Ouadjalé or descend to Goubet. You will reach the road of the Unit and the spectacular canyon of Dimbya, which descends to the sea.
