Tasiilaq (literally "the lake") is the main city on the east coast, and the seventh largest in the country (2,000 inhabitants). Situated on the island of Ammassalik, along a circular fjord surrounded by high alpine-like mountains over 1,000 metres high that fall steeply into the sea, it is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Greenland. You will be seduced by its multitude of pretty little colourful houses scattered on the heights and its river passing in its middle. It is the ideal place to make your excursions in this beautiful and wild region and to discover from the inside a local culture still attached to its traditions.
