With 30 km of navigable canals and 5,000 moorings, Empuriabrava claims to be the largest residential marina in Europe. Construction of the canal from the beach began in 1967 and was completed in 1980. Today, the 30 km of canals are divided into 50 canals, representing 10% of the marina's space, which also includes 14,000 houses and apartments. There are many cafes and restaurants as well as shops, the latter installed under arcades so that you can get there even if it rains.
