San Pedro Columbia is a village of less than 800 Mayan inhabitants, descendants of the Mopan and Kekchi peoples. The village is located south of the Rio Grande River on its Columbia branch. The village boasts several public administrations: a school, a police station, several churches and a few small stores. Nature is very much in evidence here, with the village abounding in flowers, and the thatched houses decorated with bindweed, violets and bright red poinsettias. So don't hesitate to stop off on your way to or from the Lubaantun site to discover this pleasant Mayan village.
