The only coralienne island in Bangladesh, this 8 km ² confetti stretches into the waters of the Gulf of Bengal approximately ten kilometres south of the Teknaf peninsula. Visitors come to the high season from September to April to enjoy the joys of diving or relax under coconut trees. The island can see 1 000 visitors per day! Unfortunately, the anarchic development of tourism, left to private investors outside the island, has greatly damaged the St. Martin ecosystem. Coral is in danger, migratory birds have chosen another stopover and turtles no longer lay their eggs on beaches covered with plastic. Prefer to live in the south of the island or even better, on the peninsula of Chera Dwip, connected to the main island by a narrow strip of land discovered only at low tide. It takes half a day to tour the island on foot and a small hour by tibetan.
