On the borders of Bangladesh, on the edge of the Mari River, Jaflong spreads to the air of the end of the world, to Dante's perfume of hell. This is the only natural stone in the country. They are extracted in a man's hands from the bed of the river and then loaded on board wooden boats and brought back onto the shore. Jaflong lives on the rhythm of the current that carries rocks from the Himalayas. The road leading to Jaflong from Sylhet is one of the nicest in the country. After a vast plains of rice and pastures that come to the foot of the Meghalaya mountains, covered with a thick tropical forest, it turns into a sandy and muddy trail on the last kilometers, where the corrugated squares align and the concasseuses emerge, drowning the city in a cloud of dust. Surréaliste show that Jaflong, the révoltante hardness and the dazzling natural beauty that is worth a day of excursion from Sylhet.
