Lacona offers a seaside setting popular with holidaymakers for its fine sandy beach, one of the longest on the island of Elba at 1,200 metres, and its seaside facilities. Tourist development has transformed this locality. In the 1960s, Lacona had only a small bar, agricultural plots and vineyards, taking advantage of a flat relief - rare on the island. However, the construction of tourist accommodation has been mostly done with respect for the site and contributes to the support of local development. Finally, for lovers of good local produce, a market is held there every Sunday, all year round.
