Perched at an altitude of 350 metres, this charming village deserves a stop for its steep alleys, its central square with panoramic views and its high-flying Publius restaurant. The history lover will not miss the casetta that was the home of Count and General Antoine Drouot (1774-1847), governor of Elba during Napoleon's exile. This faithful follower of the Emperor was noted from the revolutionary period for his artillery skills and took part in all the great battles of the Empire. When the emperor abdicated, Drouot decided to follow him and remained governor of the island of Elba until Napoleon's return to France.
