Saint-Hilaire-Saint-Florent is a municipality that has retained a strong identity and heritage. Every year since 1996, the National Book and Wine Days have been held here in the spring (apart from the 20th anniversary, which took place in the centre of Saumur). The fair was chaired by the actor and author Jean-Claude Brialy until 2006 and receives many authors and personalities around various and committed themes: "the intoxication of freedom" in 2012, "the thriller" in 2015 or "femininity" in 2019. The attendance is increasingly important and almost reached 10,000 visitors during the last edition.
