The town is called Malishevë/Malisheva in Albanian (pronounced "mali-chéva") and Малишево/Mališevo in Serbian ("mali-chévo"). It has about 3,400 inhabitants and is the capital of the municipality of the same name (about 55,000 inhabitants, of which 99.8% are Albanians). Malisheva/Mališevo is 17 km northeast of Rahovec/Orahovac, 46 km north of Prizren, 47 km southwest of Pristina. In this old town, almost everything is new, up to the soccer club KF Malisheva established in 2016. From its past as an Iron Age fortress, then as a Roman colony, there is not much left, except for the few tumuli that dot the landscape and a few objects displayed in the municipal museum. A KLA stronghold during the Kosovo war, Malisheva/Mališevo was virtually wiped off the map by Yugoslav forces in 1998 and became a site for the massacre of Serbian civilians in 1999. In short, the city has nothing to do with a postcard. If it is crossed by the Mirusha, the famous waterfalls of this river are 17 km northwest of here, near Klina (western Kosovo). Apart from monuments to "KLA heroes", a grassy park in the center and a 1,800-seat soccer stadium, Malisheva/Mališevo has only good bus connections: it is located halfway between Prizren and Pristina, next to the R7 highway interchange. If you want to take a break, most of the restaurants are located on the main street, the "National Renaissance" street (Rilindja Kombëtare)
