26 km northwest of Parma, in Soragna, you can visit the Meli Lupi fortress, a magnificent and imposing stately home, revealing precious rooms with baroque decorations. In the outbuildings of the castle, which served as the dairy of the Meli Lupi princes, there is an interesting Museo del Parmigiano Reggiano, where you can learn all about this excellent product, followed by a tasting (open on weekends and holidays, or on weekdays with a guided tour).
