Huchuy Qosco or the small Cusco. This citadel, at the top of Cerro Raccay, at 3 650 m, was used as refuge to Yahuar Huaca during the Chancay invasion and as place of deportation of the Incas during the Spanish conquest. The interest of the site holds in the fact that it dates from the reign of Wiracocha and that it is connected to Cusco by a way passing by the Laguna of Coricocha and Tambomachay. There are the remains of monumental palace walls, quite similar to those of the Qorikancha, and houses with six exits. Here lived about 500 families. It is possible to hike there and to stay at a nearby homestay (yachaqs.com). Entrance S/ 7.
