Dominated by the highest summit in the Hindu Kush, Tirich Mir, the quiet town of Chitral stretches along the Kunar River. Its valley houses a diverse wildlife, with no fewer than 542 glaciers. Chitral is a mountain town where it is good to spend two or three days. Sites of interest are easily visited in a day, but meeting with people, football and polo matches and walks in the bazaar can take you longer. Chitral is also the gateway to the valleys of the Kalash, a pagan people to the unique culture.
