It is in the vicinity of this small community, on the borders and borders of the Tarahumara area, that the highest waterfalls in the country are located. Among them, the Basaseachi waterfall (256 metres) is the best known; you can go down steep paths and observe the formation of a canyon not connected to the Barrancas del Cobre, the Barranca de Cadameña, fed by the Mayo River. It was long thought that this waterfall was the highest in the country, until 1995, when it was recognized 8 kilometres away on the Cerro de la Corona, another waterfall with a height difference of 453 metres, but only observed at certain times of the year (known as Piedra Bolada). The entire area is now a national park where climbing, abseiling and hiking are practiced. You can camp there and you can also find some cabins to rent to spend the night.
