The beaches south of Lima are the most popular. The dusty road hides good beaches that often lie below the road like little islands of prosperity. In summer, a day or two's getaway is well worth it. In Punta Hermosa, it's hard surfing. San Bartolo has more of a village feel with its pebble-lined pier, surfers too, good ceviche restaurants (Albamar, on the promenade), nice hotels. Preferable to go there during the week to sunbathe in peace, the weekends it fills up quickly and it is necessary to reserve. You totally forget the city. Possible to go there by bus or colectivos (Puente Atacongo)
