180 kilometers north of Lima, on the banks of the Supe River, are the remains of the oldest pre-Columbian city in America to date (more than 5,000 years old), listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009. This civilization, living from agriculture and fishing, left its mark with six pyramids in the middle of an almost white arid desert. The most imposing one rises to 18 meters. It is a major discovery in the history of civilizations. From Lima, agencies propose the discovery during a day trip. It is difficult to get there by yourself, because the site is secluded, on the edge of the desert foothills.
