12 km north of Banjul, near the estuary of the Gambia River, this seaside resort, more peaceful than Bakau, offers beautiful scenery. Its laterite cliffs, beautifully planted with palm trees, overlook magnificent beaches of fine sand, bordering the Atlantic Ocean. The place is very touristic, but one appreciates its softness of life and it floats there like a holiday air. Along its expanses of sand, there are many hotels, restaurants, bars, souvenir shops and exchange offices. Here, Gambian families meet on weekends to relax from the work week around football games.
