Situated at an altitude of 1,000 metres, Berceto is a pretty medieval village of 2,000 inhabitants, surrounded by chestnut trees, which has preserved its old-fashioned atmosphere with its stone houses, 12th and 17th century buildings and the ruins of a castle. The town is very popular in summer due to its geographical position. Berceto is in fact the starting point for hiking, cycling and horseback riding to discover the suggestive landscapes of the Val di Taro. For those who wish to discover the surroundings of the river Taro, it is possible to rent bicycles at the tourist office in Piazza Don Giovanni Bosco.
