The blue becomes azure if you continue the descent to the Caribbean Sea, the temperature rises and the landscape becomes Mediterranean along a recently rehabilitated road. Thus, we arrive at Anse-à-Pitre, the name of Palm once produced and exported from this small border port of the Dominican Republic (across the border, Pedernales vibrates, worn by the flourishing trade in manufactured goods and Dominicans of all kinds to its sub-industrialised Haitian neighbour).
