Haldummulla is a pleasant little town in the mountains, located on the main road 10 kilometers west of Haputale. Here you can branch off to World's End Lodge Resorts, a group of secluded accommodations in the mountains. The town is also home to an old Portuguese fort, built on a hill, of which unfortunately only a few ruins remain in very poor condition. In 2010, archaeologists discovered the remains of a prehistoric cemetery, and the following year, excavations uncovered an ancient settlement, attesting to the earliest human presence in the Highlands region
