The small town of Pathana is home to the Mlesna Tea Castle, an ideal visitor's center for a break on the road, but also, and most importantly, to the Devon Falls. The Devon Falls, which can be seen from the viewpoint at the bend in the road near Mlesna Tea Castle St. Clair, is one of the highest waterfalls in Sri Lanka at 97 meters. They are named after Devon, an Englishman who was one of the first to introduce coffee to the island and whose plantations were located near the falls. Pathana is definitely worth a stop to admire the Devon Falls and have a tea at the Mlesna Tea Castle.
