Hollywood is a pleasant seaside town of 153,000 inhabitants, with nearly 10 km of fine sandy beach. This one has nothing to envy to South Beach, and there are even lifeguards' huts! It is bordered by a pretty 4 km pedestrian promenade, the Broadwalk, lined with restaurants, stores and small hotels. Here, tourism is family and relaxed. The city is also very green since it has about 60 parks and 600 hectares of mangrove. For the record, Joseph Young, who founded the city in 1925, was originally from California and he wanted to recreate the same type of community when he laid the groundwork.
