Naka Yai Island lies to the northeast of Phuket, in the Andaman Sea, just 10 minutes by speedboat from the coast and the Ao Por Grand Marina. It is populated by a few dozen Muslim fishermen and their families, who live in a small village on the western side of the island. The island boasts magnificent white-sand beaches, outstanding diving spots and a luxury resort in perfect harmony with nature. Koh Naka Noi, a smaller island to the south of Koh Naka Yai, boasts beautiful beaches and a pearl farm, but (as yet) no tourist facilities.
