The only cape between Trieste and Gargano in Puglia, Mount Conero (572 m) is less than 10 km south of Ancona, following the route of a coastline with breathtaking scenery. A protected area, this promontory offers unique landscapes, vegetation and seabed. Along this route you can reach dozens of beaches, accessible by footpaths or from the coastal towns.Visit the Fortino Napoleonico, a military fortress open to the sea built around 1810 by Napoleon, which can be reached, if you follow the yellow signs, through a winding road. The fort was transformed into a prestigious hotel in 1982.
