When arriving in Williamsville on Route 66 (Elm Street) at the intersection of Elm Street and Main Street, don't be confused by the Route 66 signs that indicate different directions. The route here offers an additional loop of about 2 km that you can avoid by turning right onto nearby I-55. As of 2016, both the Public Library and the Williamsville Historical Museum have moved into a brand new building. The stop is worth it primarily for the photo opportunity, including the old train sets that once housed the museum and the exchange you can have with the old-timers who guard the place
