An industrial town, Omegna was once the capital of household appliances. Indeed, it was here in the first half of the 20th century that numerous design brands were established. While many of these are now decentralized, others, such as the famous Alessi, remain loyal. They congregate to the north, in the Distretto Casalinghi: you can take advantage of attractive prices in the factory outlets. The center of Omegna still retains its medieval layout. The Romanesque collegiate church of Sant'Ambroggio is the town's most important building, and boasts a beautiful 16th-century altar.
