This small town of less than 600 inhabitants is located in the eastern Flinders Ranges, 107 km south of Hawker, on the most direct route between the Flinders Ranges and Adelaide. It is 40 km from Peterborough. A typical outback town, its two main attractions are a gigantic 500-year-old Gum Tree, 10.4 m in circumference, and Magnetic Hill, 15 km down the Pékina Road. A red-and-white U indicates that your car, in neutral, seems to be moving in the direction of the slope... An illusion? Orroroo is home to one of the state's only kangaroo meat packing plants.
