The Cruz del Cóndor and its mirador are the highlight of any excursion in the Cañon del Colca. There, time stands still, so impressive is the scenery: the Colca River, at the bottom of the canyon, is only a thin silver thread that lets you hear its distant murmur; the condors, taking advantage in the morning of the ascending hot air currents, effortlessly hoist their three-metre wingspan to the top of the wall. After 10 am, they are more difficult to see, you have to go there early in the morning. Having filled up with emotions, the visitor joins the last village of the valley, Cabanaconde, on foot if he wishes. A very frequented place, and not by chance.
